4tissimo is a multi-award winning string quartet with over 20 years of experience and has
played for over 1000 weddings and events. We are all professional musicians who trained
at major music conservatoires and have decades of experience in performing. We also
consider ourselves wedding and corporate professionals first and foremost. We work closely
with our clients to ensure that we bring their dream to life with a musical soundscape for
them to enjoy and remember.
We have a vast playlist of over 1400 pieces of music (the largest in the South West) in
assorted genres from classical to heavy metal and everything in between.
We are the only local quartet to have a high quality PA system so that your music can be
heard even when there are a large amount of people and background noise.
We think image is very important at a special event or function and pride ourselves on being
very neat and tidy which is important for photos!
What Instruments are in a string quartet?
2 violins, a viola and a cello
How long do you play for?
For Weddings: We charge by the section rather than the hour and also play continuously
and not in sets, meaning we don’t take regular breaks; we think this makes us excellent
value! For example, if you book us for your ceremony and drinks reception (our most popular
booking) we would play for 20 minutes before the ceremony (30 minutes for churches) and
then play for the bridal party, the signing of the schedule if required, and then the grand exit
from the ceremony. We then relocate and play for the drinks reception continuously until you
are called in for your wedding breakfast.
For a corporate event or party we would play for the length of the booking, generally
between 2-3 hours
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, we ask for a non-refundable deposit of £100 to secure the date. This is deducted
from the final balance
How do we pay?
By bank transfer but we can take credit / debit cards.
Please note that for credit / debit card payments, a £20 surcharge will incur to cover the cost of bank fees.
Can we pay in instalments?
Yes, this can be as flexible as you like. You can have a defined monthly plan or make ad
hoc payments to suit your own circumstances.
Can we choose our music?
Yes, to a large extent. We provide a leaflet to help you choose your music which explains
how this process works.
Do you take special requests for music you don’t have?
Yes, as long as there are 12 weeks’ notice. If the sheet music is not available then we
offer a bespoke arranging service; an extra cost may incur for this service. We have three
experienced members on our in-house arranging team and they are able to arrange a large
variety of genres.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We have Public Liability Insurance for £10,000,000 and our electrical items are PAT
tested annually. We can provide the certificates for both upon request.
How much space do you need?
Ideally 3 m x 2 m. We can squash up a bit more for church ceremonies where space can
be limited.
Can you accompany my friend who is a singer?
Yes, with a couple of caveats. We need to know how near to the original they will sing and
also what key they will be singing in.
Can you play pops like Bridgerton?
Yes! We have been specialising in rock and pop for 18 years – long before Netflix made
Bridgerton – and we have a vast repertoire of this genre.
What will you wear?
The quartet wear attractive formal wear appropriate for a wedding or corporate event. We
can also wear black tie if requested. You can see examples of our ‘uniform’ on our

Can the quartet play outside?
Yes, as long as it is dry, without excessive wind, excessive heat, and not too cold. If it is
very hot and sunny we require a shady spot, under a tree is great. We can also bring our
own gazebo if required. We can’t play out in the rain as although we are hardy our
instruments are not.
Can you amplify?
Yes. We make the decision on a case by case basis. Sometimes it is essential and other
times not necessary at all.
Is there a discount for a very short wedding?
When you hire a quartet for a wedding they can only fit one booking into the day.
Consequently we have to charge the day/standard rate.
Can you play at split venues?
Yes, it is not uncommon to play at a church and then relocate to the reception venue.
Will you travel outside the South West?
Yes, we do travel further away subject to availability. We have recently been to London,
Southampton, the Brecon Beacons and The New Forest.
Do you play for funerals?
If we have availability, we can offer music for the service or wake/celebration of life.
Have 4tissimo played for any high profile events?
Yes, we were chosen to play for Peter and Emily André’s wedding. We filmed for the
BBC’s ‘The One Show’ for the 40th anniversary of ‘Fawlty Towers’. We have played for some
high profile corporate events for companies such as De La Rue, Chelsea Financial, Cornwall and Devon Air Ambulance, Heart Radio and The Rotary Club. 4tissimo also perform for Fever
Candlelight Concerts. We are honoured to have played in front of the Royal Family.
